Editing RAWs for the first time and having issues with the images not appearing fully (Lightroom)

Hello! I’m a very novice photographer, as really only edit photos for my birdwatching hobby, and I recently purchased a Cannon EIS r7. However, I’ve come to realize that whenever I transfer RAWs, they appear blurry unless I use the zoom feature. I thought that, perhaps, this was normal, but this doesn’t happen in any of the tutorials I’ve been watching. I don’t know why this is happening, and it’s making it very hard to edit properly when I can’t make out the details of what I’m editing. I’m just very lost and a bit frustrated. I’d really appreciate some advice.

Edit: So I downloaded Lightroom Classic, and they seem to be fine here… I’m honestly very confused

My first spring birdwatching seriously! (USA, NY)

I love warblers, and so far I’ve seen a ton, many of which I couldn’t manage to photograph, like the Golden-winged Warbler and the stubborn Cape May Warbler. More and more are passing through, so I’m hopeful that I’ll get even more photos!

I was lucky enough to photograph this beautiful Green Heron a little while ago! Interestingly, I wasn’t really afraid of me, and respectfully waited for me to leave so it could return to fishing.
