Does anyone know if you’re able to leave the airport during a connecting flight?

I will be flying for a wedding to boston and leaving my 2 year old in St. Louis.

2 separate flights from Boston-St.Louis, then St. Louis - Miami would be 40,000 points.

If I do the same flight with 2 legs it would be 15,000 points.

I was wondering if I could grab my daughter during the lay over and bring her on the flight home. I also have companion pass, so was also wondering if I could add her for her own seat.

Never done this before. Hoping someone has.
