in Y8 and Y9 we were constantly told how important it was that we chose subjects that would let us get an EBACC because employers and unis would go mad for us if we had it. They managed to convince basically every student and their parents that this was as important as your results. Then we get to GCSE and nobody cares or brings it up, I assumed they'd bring it up around results day but that passes without a single mention of it.

I have no idea why it was hyped up to us so much then forgotten about, one reason I can think of is it was basically the only reason any students were taking MFL and also justified the mandatory RE which was universally hated. If we hadn't been told about it I can guarantee myself and a lot of other students would have dropped languages because we were already suffering in those and taken an extra optional subject.

Im going on a dig soon and im debating wether to buy a cheap gardening matt or maybe slash a bit more and get some knee pads.

What's your guys' opinions on which is better?

Currently in on an archaeology degree and thinking about going down the route of doing an Msc in bio/zooarcaheology

I love archaeology so it's not like I regret choosing this route, but I personally see the past as one long line of things so I would say im equally interested in palaeontology. So im interested how I could get involved in it in the UK.

I see a lot of late war British players love to use the blackish splotches camo patten on their vehicles. But I have never actually seen a photo of a British tank with this camo. This isn't to jab at people who've chosen to use this scheme, it look cool and I know this hobby isn't always one for 1:1 accuracy. Im just curious where this love for this camo pattern has originated from.
