Can anyone offer advice to a 40 year old with no experience looking to get into karting in Tasmania? I'd like to start just doing practice laps for a while before considering racing.

If I buy a cart, are there tracks that are open for free practice time in Tasmania, not necessarily races.

I'm not interested in the hire kart experiences aimed at bucks parties and the like.
