Software changes to make PW a great running watch

Been using the PW4 for a while now, great for sleep tracking and general health metrics, but it's really lacking on the running side of things and I there are two major things they could fix on the software side.

  1. Pace/distance tracking is inaccurate on certain types of runs, most notably intervals. The PW4 has dual-band GPS but people still report inaccuracies, and based on a few threads in this sub it seems like it's because FitBit uses a combination of GPS and the accelerometer and/or stride length to calculate distance travelled. The workaround is just using a third party app like Ghostracer or Gear Tracker II which both track exclusively off the GPS. FitBit (soon to be Google Health) should just disregard accelerometer/stride data when calculating distance and pace and rely solely on the GPS, or at least give us the option to choose this manually for ourselves.
  2. The workout view screen is too limited. Give us the option to customise the appearance (eg: displaying a preferred metric such as heartrate or pace in a giant font as the main focus). Allow us to setup multiple workout view pages. I actually don't mind the HR zone bar, but the zones themselves should be editable rather than working off some arbitrary default set.

For those who have the new app - is external activity tracking fixed?

The public preview seemed to break external activity tracking, any workouts I did in my weightlifting app didn't appear to log in my activity section.

Wondering if this has now been fixed since it was a well known issue.

First race shoe recs

Current rotation: Rebel v5 for daily+tempo, Dynafish Xiaonian for long+intervals. 135lbs, slightly wide foot.

Just finished my first race (1:47 HM, ran in the Xiaonians) and signed up for a full marathon this year, and plan on doing some 10ks on the way.

Thought I'd treat myself to some plated racing shoes for the upcoming 10ks and full marathon.

Some shoes I had in mind were the SC Elite v5 or EP4 (just based on popularity in this sub), but I also had some budget options in mind like the Feidian Elite 6 or Vaporfly 4 (Nike outlet has them at 60% off or something ridiculous).

For those doing PPL with 3 runs a week, how do you structure your week?

Just finished a half marathon on 2 runs a week, with this weekly structure:

Long run / Push / Legs / Pull / Intervals / Rest / Rest

Worked great because I was able to get a full day of rest for my lower body between training days.

Next goal is a full marathon and I feel it'd be a good idea to add a third run (tempo session) to the week, but now I won't be able to avoid consecutive lower body days.

Curious to see how other people go about tackling this, do you have 2 consecutive running days somewhere, or do you do one of the runs right after leg day?

Guess this will all be speculation - but what approach do you think businesses will take if Jacinta Allan's WFH laws actually come into effect later this year?

Do they just allow Victorian employees to work 2 days from home while keeping other employees in the office 5 days? Or do you think the bad optics will get management to budge and give everyone the same allowances as Victorian employees?
