Do you think this shooping list is good value?

We had several home upgrades from Costco on our list, so this is what I ended up ordering:

Hisense 65” U65 Pro — $599.99

Mini LED TV with Fire TV built in and 5 years of warranty coverage through Costco.

Tresanti Juliette 75” Console with Electric Fireplace — $799.99

Gives us extra storage, a place for the TV, and a fireplace feature for colder evenings.

NewAge Products Bold Series 6-Piece Cabinet Set — $799.99

Includes a 30” locker, base cabinet, and wall cabinets to finally organize the garage.

Traeger Texas Elite Pellet Grill 34 — $599.99

Large enough for family cookouts and easier to manage than my old charcoal grill.

Novaform 14” ComfortGrande Advanced Gel Memory Foam Mattress, King — $579.99

We needed a larger mattress, and the gel memory foam sounded like a comfortable option without spending over $1,000.

The total before the Costco Direct discount was $3,379.95. After the $400 instant savings, it came down to $2,979.95.

What do you think about them?

Is a 12k BTU Mini Split enough for a 580 sq ft room?

Summer's kicking my ass and my current setup isn't cutting it anymore. Been looking at a mini split that's rated for up to 550 sq ft, but my room is actually 580 sq ft, so I'm just barely over the limit.

Does that matter enough to bump up to a higher BTU unit, or is being 30 sq ft over usually fine? Don't want it running nonstop trying to keep up and torching my electric bill all summer.

Found the best game to play on CRT

I’ve been messing around with this 29" Sony CRT lately and trying to see what actually feels good to play on it.

I picked up a component cable for my GameCube, and RE4 was the first game that really made the setup click for me. The 480p picture looks way better than I expected, and the whole game just feels right on this screen. The darker areas, the scanlines, the old-school color, all of it fits that early 2000s horror vibe so well.

I’ve also tried a few other random things on it. PS3 Blu-rays look surprisingly good, and I ran some old Region 6 DVDs through a Pioneer DVD amp too. I even tested a little streaming box with an HDMI-to-component adapter just to see if it would work, and it actually handled basic news and casual watching fine.

Obviously this is not replacing my normal living room gaming setup TV. For newer games, movies, streaming, and sports, I still use my Hisense U7. The newer TV is just easier for daily use, and for modern games the color, brightness, and refresh rate make a big difference.

But for old games, this CRT is just fun. It feels less like chasing perfect picture quality and more like enjoying the games the way I remember them. RE4 on GameCube might be my favorite so far.
