Are Whitening strips on dental fillings and cavities ok?
My teeth are very noticeably yellow when I smile so I try to avoid my best not to show my teeth when I smile I'm pretty sure there yellow because I put turmeric in most of my foods that I make expect for a tuna salad I make where I use soy sauce I think that the soy sauce is the main culprit because I have my salad almost everyday for months straight I always put around 5 to 10ml in it.
I didn't know before that it stainted teeth, so that's why I never thought to stop.
I floss everynight around every tooth front and back I make sure not to miss a spot and I've been flossing every night for a year and few months straight so my teeth are clean it's just that there yellow from the soy sauce I think.
I have a silver dental filling on the right side of my tooth at the back. the dentist said last time I went that it was close to the root, but I don't have any pain if that helps. I feel fine in the back. Also, I have 4 cavities, 2 on each side on the back teeth.
I googled see if using whitening strips would be bad for my cavities but especially my filling as last year I had an infection from a bad dentist I went to who didn't clean the teeth well before temporary filling. Google recommended I don't use them as it may damage my tooth and cause pain, but my teeth have gotten to a point where they are really yellow and I feel really insecure.
I'm only planning on using them for a few days till my teeth get a little whiter but not so white that it looks unnatural.
Would really appreciate it if a dentist could tell me if it might cause harm if I were to put whitening strips on my teeth, including the back. Thank you 🙏
