What matters most to you in a wedding PA system?
Hey everyone,
I work in the pro audio industry at Adam Hall / LD Systems and lately we’ve been discussing internally how different wedding gigs are compared to almost every other type of live event.
A lot of PA systems are still designed around traditional live sound priorities (output, SPL, coverage etc.) but weddings seem to come with a completely different set of expectations:
- aesthetics
- portability
- fast setup/teardown
- speech intelligibility
- minimal visual impact
- clean cable management
- flexible indoor/outdoor use
- systems that feel “premium” without looking intrusive
So instead of making assumptions, I’d genuinely love to hear directly from wedding DJs and people working weddings every weekend:
- What matters most to you in a wedding PA setup?
- What are your biggest frustrations with current systems?
- What features do you wish existed specifically for wedding work?
- What makes a setup feel perfect for ceremonies, dinner and party transitions?
- How important are appearance and compactness compared to raw performance?
- What are common mistakes manufacturers still make when designing PA systems for weddings?
Not trying to sell anything here, honestly just interested in learning from real-world experience and understanding what modern wedding DJs actually need from audio systems today.
