Gave a talk in sacrament meeting today. Is anyone else unsure of how to accept compliments afterwards?
Maybe it's not that deep, I just feel really awkward accepting compliments after giving a talk, because I want the focus to be on the message, not my public speaking ability. In the process of preparing for a talk, I make it a point to pray for the Lord's guidance on what needs to be shared to bless those who are listening. After sacrament meeting ends, I have a few people come up and say "great job on your talk," but inside I wonder if the message I prepared was really able to help somebody feel the Spirit.
Does anybody else have thought like this? What can I change about my mindset?
