Where can a man in his early 50s make friends?
I've lived here (Lafayette, Indiana) for over 7 years.
I still have no idea where to go to make friends.
I work from home.
All the people I Zoom with live far away.
I'm not religious. But I am tempted to find a church for this purpose.
I don't like the taste of alcohol. But I'd be willing to frequent a bar if it were a good place to make friends.
All serious suggestions will be appreciated.

I've always been more of a conversational guy.
I don't really do any sports or ride motorcycles.
I am shopping around for a fitness center. If I find a great one, I may end up looking for a workout buddy.
Until then, I do like going for walks. But I really got out of shape during COVID and am only recently (since January) getting back into shape. It's a long road back. But I've lost 70 lbs in 4 months so far.
Beyond that, I like to do arts and crafts, and I think Karaoke would be fun, or maybe bowling, or board games, etc..
