In terms of safety , childcare and family life anyone who lives in Croydon please let me know if this is a good move. Plan to stay there short term and move next year again after settling fully in London. Budget is £3k pcm for a 3 bed. Also other ideas are appreciated.

ILR dilemma

Hi I am in a bit of a fix here. I have been due for ILR since mid May and my current company is paying for it. Now I have gotten a new job with 6 figures that is way more in £ than my current role which I am to resume in August. I accepted the offer based on my ILR would have been out by then. I need to resign from my current job to start my 2 months notice period but my ILR application is still ongoing via company lawyers and might still take another 2 weeks from what I can see
. Do I wait for the application to be out then resign immediately or inform HR now I need to resign now and pay myself the ILR fees. Resigning now would mean my employer would inform home office that I have 2 months left to work. Does that affect my ILR application if I apply myself? N/b There’s no clause that says I should pay back anything to my current employer for visa fees.
New job thinks early August is too far to resume so negotiating a further start date might be tricky. Just want to hear your thoughts about the best action to take. Time is ticking .
