ZMF Eikon to Caldera or Atrium??

Hey all,

I’ve been running a pair of Eikons for years now. Love them, but I’m getting that itch to grab another pair of ZMFs.

I am using the Schiit Jotunheim 3 + Mesh DAC. Mostly listen to EDM, LoFi, and rock. I love bass. Be it a deep rumble or punch from EDM or funky bass guitar lines. There are times the clarity of bass is amazing, there are times I just want it to rumble.

I feel like the eikons have fit this pretty well. However, like most of you, I wonder can something do it even better?

This leaves me with the question: Caldera closed or atrium closed? Google and reviews seem all over the place on this. The leaning from what I’ve gathered is the atrium might be a better fit? The AI chat on the ZMF website says caldera for whatever that is worth.

****caveat here is I also game with these pretty heavily. I’m not super picky, but the soundstage of the calderas is interesting to me for games like Escape from Tarkov. Sound is sound to me for most games, it’s just when I’m highly reliant on where that sound is.

Thanks!
