People need to stop using “it’s my opinion” like it’s some magical shield against criticism.

Yes, it’s your opinion. Nobody said you can’t have one. But just because it’s an opinion doesn’t automatically make it valid or worth the same as every other opinion.

Some opinions are informed and based on facts, evidence, or people actually knowing what they’re talking about. Others are just ignorance, misinformation, or plain hateful nonsense. Saying “that’s just my opinion” doesn’t suddenly make it untouchable.

I've seen so many people here and in social media saying it before anyone even responds because they already know what they’re about to say is controversial or likely to get pushback. It’s like a disclaimer saying “Don’t criticize me, this is just my opinion.”

You have every right to say whatever you want, especially on social media. But other people also have every right to respond, criticize, or think your take is complete BS. Just like mine, if you don’t agree with it, that’s fine. I’m not going to take it personally.
