Lifting is WAAY harder than running

Its far easier for me to push myself to run long distance than it is for me to push myself to lift weights heavy enough and rep an amount thats hard enough to push my body.

Running is a complete mental game for me. Yeah my lungs burn but I can still keep going and if I need to I can lower my pace a little

Streamers are modern day jesters

Streamers are constantly making a fool of themselves just to get views. Just Seeing the highlights of their award shows, the attendees didnt even take serious. But to disturb the public for views is inconsiderate. They works say absurd things and do most things the chat says as long as they get donations

I was suspended from school. Valid?

Hey guys, making another post cause I’m bored. I am 14m and I was suspended last year. In the 7th grade. I don’t really know where to start so I guess I’ll just start typing. Our class was playing basketball in our small school gym. The school only has about 100 people k-12. There were only 2 5th graders lol. So anyways, I was guarding this girl that nobody really likes, the reason why for that is because she’s mean. We were just playing, it was pretty fun, until I had to guard her. So I was guarding her and she was getting mad at me because I wouldn’t let her get the ball or anything. Keep in mind she kept shoving me. ( I know shoving is part of the game so idk.) After a couple more plays, the shoving kept getting harder. I snapped when she ran between me and my friend and elbowed BOTH of us at the same time. (She went in between us.) I yelled at her saying something like, “ don’t push us!” While saying that I pushed her with my hand which made her almost lose her balance. As soon as that happened, another girl, ran up to me and straight up punched me in the face. I’m not going to lie, I hit her back open hand massive slap to her right cheek. She fell on her back looking up at me in shock. I was in shock too, I think. I felt something in me that screamed WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU DO THAT. I’ll finish it quick for you guys. The principle gave me a week suspension but we had a break in between so it was about 13 days. She did not get any punishment. I have another story about the same girl but I will post it later maybe, goodbye and please don’t flame me too hard.

Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month and Pride Month should not both be in the same month.

June is Pride Month. June is also Men’s Mental Health Awareness month. And yet, every year, Pride dwarfs MMHAM (that’s how I’m abbreviating it for brevity) by miles, to the extent that people generally are much less aware of when MMHAM is if they are even aware that it exists in the first place. I mean, look at how I formatted the first two sentences. The fact that we even mention it as a second thought to Pride shows how we’re ranking these things when they’re both of equal importance.

One of these needs to be moved to a different month. Men’s mental health deserves a separate month so that men can actually be properly recognized.

To me, it really seems like a slap in the face to give men and their mental health their own month to be recognized just for many people to not know when it is, much less even know it’s a thing (because Pride becomes the focus for the entire month of June).

I’m not saying Pride should be minimized, but because the knowledge of it being in June is so ubiquitous, it overpowers anything else. It almost seems more insulting this way than just not giving them their own month at all.

There's nothing wrong with someone wanting to adopt a baby but not an older child or teenager.

If you adopt a baby, you go through nearly the whole experience of parenthood, just like if you had a biological child. Adopting an older child or teenager is a completely different experience. They have had problems in life, which you had nothing to do with and may not know about, but will stick with them forever. There may also be tension between the biological family and adoptive family.

I'm not saying older children don't deserve to be adopted, but rather there's nothing wrong with a prospective adoptive parent wanting an infant/toddler only. Nobody shames biological parents for not adopting instead, but people sometimes shame adoptive parents for saying they don't want to adopt an older child.

People get ridiculously angry over nothing

I think it’s amusing how angry grown adults get over nothing. Breaking character over strangers on the internet and they’re so confident in their conclusions and opinions about people they don’t even know and don’t find that embarassing. Like calling people manic or comparing them to their children to make a point or insult. Am I nuts or is this crazy considering they’re making serious statements and getting worked up instead of noticing they’re behavior. Is everyone miserable on here? Lol

SpongeBob is the greatest tv show of all time

Spongebob is by far the greatest tv show off all time. i don’t know any other tv show that has had the cultural impact that spongebob has managed to have in just 30 years of it being on air.

Literally from one season of spongebob that aired over 25 years ago there is over a 100 extremely popular memes out of one season!!! Some shows can’t even get more than ten out of the whole series.

It’s also one of the longest running tv shows of all time which we also have to give it credit for. The show literally changed writers and it’s still been going for 30 years.

porn should not be so easily accessible for children

The average age of children that was exposed to pornography was 12 years old... I discovered porn even earlier than that.

Whether it's a misspelling from a Google search, or just accidentally stumbling on it, pornography has became way too accessible for children. It's also very easy for children to lie about their age so they can continue to watch pornography.

Children as young as 12 are still trying to figure out how their bodies and the world around them works. they're very impressionable. Not only is porn very unrealistic and not a good form of sex education, it gives kids a very unrealistic expectation of what sex is like. Children can't understand that porn is clearly curated and it's just acting.

Especially with female children, porn can cause them to feel bad about their bodies. Once again, children don't have the experience to understand that the pornstar they're comparing themselves to is a 27-year-old woman with fake boobs.

I know everyone else could say the same thing, but porn absolutely should not be so easily accessible to kids. The fact that the average age to discover pornography is 12 is very disappointing. Having curiosity about sex is normal as you grow up, but they should learn that through sex education than by pornography.

Short guys who complain about dating are creating their own hurdles.

I think this is fairly self explanatory, but there's a subsect of online discourse in the incel space from "short guys" who complain about the fact that "women only date Greek gods that are at least 6 feet tall".

It feels like there's a niche algorithm that breeds these people. Some dumb shit that feeds them videos of women turning guys down based on their height or something. Then they take that and turn around and blame all women for the actions of a few (who are likely just saying it for content anyways) and get really nasty about it.

In the real world (crazy I know) plenty of short guys date all sorts of ladies successfully. If you are a good dude with cool hobbies and are easy and fun to talk to with good hygiene among other good traits, then other traits that sometimes are seen as a negative really don't matter as much.

Honestly I just don't understand why there are guys who get so incredibly bitter and awful about height. Like damn dude, you literally are hand-making your own hurdle, and then falling over it.

I understand that dating apps exacerbate things with shit like height filters, but I'm above average height and I barely ever get matches. Height isn't this cheat code to getting dates, nor is it the reason you aren't getting any matches like me.

Also side note, if dating apps are causing you to get bitter about dating, then get off them. Period. It was the best thing for my mental health to stop engaging and just go meet people irl.

Music & AI do not mix.

I’ve heard two artists so far that I noticed AI. Zeroworry music, and IngaRose.

Music should be banned from using artificial intelligence. Art should not be done by a computer otherwise it takes the concept out of it.

AT LEAST 80% of redditors are dickheads who just wanna fuck up your day and prove you wrong.

There's no denying this. I literally can't even ask someone whether they were being sarcastic or not (because I CAN'T TELL WITHOUT HEARING THEM) because I end up getting downvoted. Like why? I get downvoted for THE DUMBEST SHIT. I get downvoted if i don't know what an acronym means and I ask...really it's if I ask for further clarification on anything.

I'm trying to think of other examples but they're always so stupid, it's hard to keep track.

The world has become cold and Reddit is a perfect example of a microcosm of it.

BE NICER TO PEOPLE. YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY'RE GOING THROUGH.

No, waiting tables is no better than having a college career job.

I decided to go to college as a non-traditional student. Currently waiting tables at a hotel. I had some coworkers calling me stupid for having academic aspirations. One of them told me you make more money serving than a career job.

I told them how unstable these jobs are and you typically have to put a performance to get a tip. Someone else tried to argue with me that serving is harder than college.

Movie criticize rape is harming men's right, especially working class men's right

From men’s perspective, rape is benefit to males, because it give mens what they can’t get in conventional way. By the way, if everyone just rape other man’s woman, for those man with desire for clean, peace, hygiene, loyalty, it may harm other man’s benefit. This is where ancient law about rape come from.

Later, one more component come to there, class. When rape happen, higher class female can be raped by lower class man, lower class female can be raped by higher class man too. But combine with the actual power and force there, most time it’s upper class male rape lower class females, which are lower class men’s wife or daughter. In this period, rape does have a balance on restricting men and protecting men’s right

Today, it’s a different condition. Today, chastity can’t restrict female much, women look for money, look for easy life, even for those who not pursuing these, when these come to them, they have no reason to refuse these, and society has literally no restriction to these. This made a trend, upper class males occupy more females, lower class male occupy less females. Lower class females also go to upper class males, or low class female go to middle class male, middle class female go to upper class males, low to low, middle to middle become less. Upper class males doesn’t need to rape middle class female, lower class female anymore, every society force pushing them toward them to upper class males. In this case, rape law only prevent lower class man to occupy females, or marry a same class females, or play higher class females. The condition become very hard for low class, middle class males. Female has freedom to pursue a higher class man, males doesn’t have much chance to pursue same level females or higher level females. It’s very clear, the rape law today, harm low class, middle class male’s benefit. Rape give lower class middle class males to occupy same level females and higher level females. in this case, the privilege of upper class males has been restricted. At mean while, not having a woman can give man pressure, this can push man to find a way to solve this, men may work hard to compete with other people, or crime to earn money, this making males in a harsh condition, pushing them to be more like slaves. This kind productivity is not driven by a direct reason, there are many loophole in this kind society productivity push model, this only guarantee competition between males, it doesn’t guarantee more productivity, in actual condition, in pushing some productivity and some destructive competitions.

From a mutual respect perspective, rape is benefit to males, may not benefit to females, what it give to females is uncertain to males, if assume the completely opposite possibility, it harm females, then combine rape benefit men, harm females, it should not be legal.

But the most important thing here is, this is based on mutual respect perspective, if female doesn’t respect males, males have no reason to use this mutual respect perspective, don’t mention about use female perspectives, men has no reason to use mutual respective perspective or female perspective in this case. But the mainstream media controlled by capitalism forcing you to use mutual respect perspective or female perspective while females doesn’t respect males, they only use female perspectives and some time mutual respect perspectives.

The conclusion here is very clear: When not using a mutual respect perspective, but self-fish perspective, rape is benefit to most males today, beside upper class males, their benefit comparatively got violated more than the lower class males.

If female doesn’t use a mutual respect perspective, men has no benefit to use mutual respect perspective, not mention female’s perspective. If it’s a case females don’t respect males, there is no reason for males to criticize rape, which align with their own benefit, which only can be not legal in the mutual respect perspective, or female perspective. Any media promote criticize for rape in this condition, should not be trust, accepted by men.

We need more permissive HOAs

I want to live in a more “permissive” HOA. I don’t want to live next to neighbors who have alcohol fueled parties with loud music at 3am, or a landfill as their front yard. But I also don’t want to be hounded because my grass is a quarter inch too high or my flowers don’t match the “character of the neighborhood.” We should make hoas that take the good and leave the bad.

People need to stop using “it’s my opinion” like it’s some magical shield against criticism.

Yes, it’s your opinion. Nobody said you can’t have one. But just because it’s an opinion doesn’t automatically make it valid or worth the same as every other opinion.

Some opinions are informed and based on facts, evidence, or people actually knowing what they’re talking about. Others are just ignorance, misinformation, or plain hateful nonsense. Saying “that’s just my opinion” doesn’t suddenly make it untouchable.

I've seen so many people here and in social media saying it before anyone even responds because they already know what they’re about to say is controversial or likely to get pushback. It’s like a disclaimer saying “Don’t criticize me, this is just my opinion.”

You have every right to say whatever you want, especially on social media. But other people also have every right to respond, criticize, or think your take is complete BS. Just like mine, if you don’t agree with it, that’s fine. I’m not going to take it personally.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is NOT overrated

Before I played Red Dead Redemption 2 I didn't know video games could be as compelling as movies or high concept television. While I was playing this game it literally felt like watching a 60 hour Clint Eastwood movie, and I mean one of the really good one's like "Unforgiven" or "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly".

Some people on the internet say the gameplay is overrated, but it really isn't. Roaming around the world on a horse for the first time, interacting with NPC's, finding secrets, doing side missions, reading Arthur's diary, etc.

All of that IS the gameplay. And the gunplay was really good as well. Sure, it was easy but getting good head shots felt really "weighty" and satisfying, and not at all clunky like the first Red Dead Game.

The reason people call it the best game they ever played is because of the immersive world, deep narrative, and incredible performances by the cast. The gameplay isn't like God of War, but it doesn't have to be and it's excellent for the kind of game it is. That's why I don't think this game is overrated in the slightest
