NEWS: LSAC Delays GPA Calculation Change

From LSAC:

“Last month, we announced that, effective July 28, 2026, LSAC would no longer include grades from college-level courses completed while a candidate was in high school, often referred to as dual enrollment classes, in the LSAC GPA calculation. After careful review, we have decided to delay implementation of the policy until summer 2027, enabling candidates and law schools to adjust to the new policy.

This change, which now will take effect for the 2027-2028 applicant cycle, recognizes that access to college-level courses varies widely among high schools. Furthermore, where access does exist, high school students may not understand whether and how grades earned in those courses could affect their applications to law school. Excluding such courses from the LSAC GPA calculation was intended to help ensure that all high school students, regardless of their motivation for taking college courses, could feel free to do so without concern over how it might affect their future law school enrollment.

We heard a lot of support for the policy change, but we also heard concerns about whether prospective applicants had been provided adequate notice in approaching the 2026-2027 application cycle, and that is why we are delaying implementation.”

For anyone frustrated by how expensive LSAT prep is getting

Hey guys, seeing all the posts about how fast LSAT costs add up lately, I wanted to throw a cheaper alternative into the mix.

I built a platform called LSAT Perfection. The whole idea was to keep it priced lower than any other platform out there while still including all the stuff you need to study (full curriculum, custom drillset builder, explanations, and a built in wrong answer journal).

There’s a free tier if you just want to mess around with the interface and see if you like it: https://lsatperfection.org

Hopefully this helps some of you with your studying while saving a bit of money. Let me know if you have any questions or feedback!

Scored 177 on the LSAT

Hi everyone, I’m Jay. I’m looking to take on a few new students as people prepare for the summer exams. For background, I scored a 177 on the LSAT, and have been tutoring students for over a year now.

During the sessions, rather than just reviewing questions you’ve already finished, my style is centered around working through problems together in real time. This allows me to see your thought process as it happens, so we can focus on specifically what you need to work on without wasting time.

I’ve worked with students at every level, from those just starting out to high scorers looking to bridge the gap into the 170s, and I’ve seen every practice question available. My rate is $75 an hour, but I always start with a free 30-minute session. We can discuss your goals, drill a few questions live, and see if our styles click before you commit to anything.

If you just got your April scores back and need a fresh plan, or if you’re just starting your prep, feel free to leave a comment or shoot me a DM. I’m happy to plan out a routine that works for you.
