Final WFM/CXO update: severance details received 💰 + departure ✈️

I wanted to make one final update post now that I received my severance details.

For context, I was one of the associates working both Whole Foods Market and Amazon/CXO, and due to the dual employment change, I had to choose which employer I wanted to stay with.

I decided to end my employment with Whole Foods Market and stay with Amazon/CXO. My WFM employment officially ends on 6/29/2026.

Today, I received my severance agreement/details. Based on the documents, the severance package is generally calculated as two weeks of pay for every year of service, with a minimum of two weeks and a maximum of 26 weeks.

In my case, as a flex part-time shopper with about 3 years of tenure, my severance amount came out to around $2,000! 💰

The agreement also mentions that payment is made as a lump sum after signing/returning the agreement, usually in the first payroll cycle occurring at least 14 days after returning it.

I’m attaching screenshots of what the FAQ/severance documents look like!

Honestly, this ended up working out really well for me. I’m staying with Amazon/CXO because it aligns better with my long-term goals, school schedule, pay, and growth opportunities. I’m also moving toward an L3 Site Lead position at Amazon, so this feels like the right move for where I’m headed.

Still, it definitely feels like the end of an era. I’m grateful for my time at Whole Foods, the people I worked with, and everything I learned there. I’ll definitely miss the 20% discount the most lol but I’ll still be shopping at Whole Foods and floating around the sub occasionally 😋

Good luck to everyone else going through this decision. Definitely read your documents carefully, ask questions if you need clarification, and make the choice that works best for your situation.

From Whole Foods E-Commerce Shopper 🛒 to L3 Site Lead at Amazon CXO

I wanted to share a positive update and hopefully encourage anyone who may be in a similar position.

I recently had to make a big decision between staying with Whole Foods or continuing with Amazon. It honestly was not an easy decision because Whole Foods was a big part of my work journey. I worked as an e-commerce shopper, learned a lot about customer service, fulfillment, store operations, working under pressure, and supporting a team. I’ll always be grateful for that experience.

But I ultimately chose Amazon because I see more long-term growth and stability there for my current situation, especially as a student.

I recently accepted an L3 Site Lead role at an Amazon Counter/CXO location. Going from Whole Foods e-commerce shopper to L3 Site Lead feels like a huge jump, and I’m genuinely excited and grateful.

The role starts at $20/hr, gives me a set schedule from Sunday to Thursday with Friday and Saturday off, and it is an evening lead position, which works almost perfectly with school. I also have the option to use temporary schedule adjustment to reduce my hours when needed so I can focus more on classes. For me, that is a major benefit.

Even though I was making slightly more at Whole Foods as a shopper, the schedule and hours were becoming less consistent. Shift availability has been getting reduced, and with the newer systems and changes happening, it feels like there may not always be as many shifts available. The shifts that are available can also be at odd times or change every week, which can be difficult if you are a student or someone who needs a more predictable schedule so technically I am making more at Amazon.

That was one of the biggest reasons Amazon made more sense for me. Having consistent hours, a set schedule, and a clearer leadership path is extremely valuable.

Another major part is the benefits. Amazon has strong health insurance options with wide coverage, multiple time-off options, and more flexibility than people may realize. If a site is closed for a holiday, you may still be paid for that day depending on your schedule and situation, which is another nice benefit. I also think long-term, as Whole Foods becomes more integrated with Amazon’s systems, there may eventually be changes to how benefits and discounts work. In my opinion, one possibility is that the Whole Foods discount could become more universal for Amazon employees, which would make sense. Another possibility is that the discount could change or be discontinued, although I personally think that is less likely. Of course, that is just my own opinion and not official information.

For anyone still working at Whole Foods e-commerce, especially students, I would seriously consider looking into Amazon Counter/CXO opportunities if they are available near you. It may not be the path everyone thinks of right away, but it can be a really solid opportunity. The Counter role can be one of the more manageable Amazon roles, and it can also be really rewarding if you put in the effort, take ownership, and build good relationships.

The work itself may seem simple from the outside, but there is a lot of opportunity to stand out if you care about customer experience, site standards, organization, safety, and helping the team. When you take the role seriously, people notice.

Treat every shift like a chance to build your reputation.
For me, labor share and supporting other sites helped a lot. It gave me more experience, helped me meet other site leads, and helped build trust with leadership. Building rapport with your Area Manager and getting support from site leads can really open doors if you are trying to move into a lead role.

I know people sometimes look at Amazon Counter as just an easy or chill role, and in some ways it can be a very manageable job compared to other operations roles. But if you really put in the effort, make connections, and show leadership through your actions, it can become much more than that.

I started as a Whole Foods e-commerce shopper, moved into Amazon Counter/CXO, supported multiple sites, built relationships with leaders, and now I’m stepping into an L3 Site Lead role.

So if you are a Whole Foods shopper, a student, or someone trying to decide whether Amazon is worth staying with, my experience has been that there is real opportunity if you are intentional about it.

Whole Foods gave me a strong foundation, and I’ll always appreciate that. But for my schedule, school, benefits, stability, and long-term growth, choosing Amazon was the right move for me.

Now a fair warning is that L3 site lead roles are highly desired and competitive roles so it may be very difficult obtaining one especially since most sites only have one spot for it and others having 2 with the evening lead being the second. Additionally being a L1 is tough if you’re not fast enough picking up shifts.

Update: WFM/Amazon associates told to choose one role as CXO labor share pauses

Wanted to share an update for anyone working both Whole Foods Market and Amazon/CXO aka the returns counter.

Amazon announced today that labor sharing is being temporarily turned off for CXO, effective immediately.
What that means:
● CXO associates will only see available shifts at their assigned home site
● Associates will not be able to pick up shifts at other CXO locations through the scheduling system
● If you want to work at another location, you’ll have to look into transfer options through A to Z
● There is currently no timeline for when labor share will be turned back on

Separately, I was also informed by my WFM STL that associates who currently work both WFM and CXO will have to choose one. From what I was told, the deadline is by the 22nd, and there is supposed to be a severance package involved after we choose what role/company we want to stay with. Since I’ve been with WFM longer I’ll get a generous severance package. There will be a email with a survey that initiates the process and your choice.

I don’t know if the exact details are the same everywhere, so definitely check with your own STL, manager, or PXT for confirmation.

For me personally, I’m choosing Amazon/CXO.
The main reasons are the higher pay, more flexibility with school, and moving up to a evening L3 Site Lead position for the CXO counter after my interview with my Area manager tomorrow. That schedule works better for my school situation and gives me a better path forward long-term.

Still, it definitely feels like the end of an era. I’m going to miss the 20% Whole Foods discount more than anything else lol. I’ll still shop at Whole Foods, just without the discount. E-commerce was a very fun role/team 🛒 but I was starting to pull away little by little and was only working like 1 shift a week.

Just wanted to share the update for anyone else who may be in the same situation. I wonder if after WFM is fully integrated into Amazons system will the discount then apply to all Amazon associates universally for grocery at WFM or will the discount completely be a thing of the past.

Got Told to “Get Off the Road” While Riding My Scooter This Morning

I was riding my scooter on West Putnam in Greenwich this morning when a guy driving on the opposite side of the road rolled down his window just to yell, “GET OFF THE ROAD!”

For a split second I was tempted to flip my visor up and hit him with the classic, “I pay taxes and have a right to be here too.”

Instead I just pretended I didn’t hear him and kept scooting along. 🛴

What gets me is the level of commitment. He had to see me, get annoyed, roll down his window, and spend part of his morning yelling at a random scooter rider who wasn’t bothering anyone.

Do e-scooters secretly activate some kind of NPC side quest in certain drivers, or are people just like this? 😂

Like I honestly don’t get it. My scooter is literally fast enough to keep up with traffic and dude was on the other side of the street going the opposite direction lol

Saw this today (New shopper program 🛒)

Basically a toned down version of the elite shopper program that includes a local store shout out 📢 or maybe it’s the same thing but just renamed.

I got silver elite last year and got a $15 gift card. Curious if they’ll still give out gift cards for this new program.

Slayed this order 🤪🛒

S tier order. Majority of the order was grocery and frozen. Very little produce 🍓

Innerview coverage request cancelled?

Does anyone know what causes that to happen? Just curious as to what causes that. Initial thought was leadership but this happened around 11pm so I’m guessing it’s just a bug or the system.

E-commerce shifts 🛒

Hey everyone! I wanted to see if anyone’s flex stores has been experiencing an increase of 8 hour shifts and a decrease in the number of 4 hour shifts and shifts in general.

For the past few weeks I’ve been noticing less shifts dropping on Friday’s and Tuesdays and majority of the shifts I’m seeing that do drop are 8 hour shifts.

A bit concerned for the seasonals and shoppers who rely on this job. I gave up my shift to a friend tomorrow because they literally only had 8 hours scheduled.
