Hello everyone

Posted a few weeks back about me putting a dent in the garage door of the rental. Door still works but the lowermost panel dented and bent slightly. Figured I’d be paying for a replacement panel or the repairs. Landlord wants $2584 for the entire door to be replaced. She’s already made the appointment.

The door is 8 years old. My understanding is I only pay for the depreciated value of the door. I’m looking for some advice or if someone can point me towards some set-in-stone writing or resources I can use to get this bill down.

I am in the tail end of a divorce with a $7500 bill coming up and can’t afford a $2600 bill on top of it.

Any help?
