Emirates and Asthma
Hi everyone,
I made it to the final interview and was selected as one of the 3 finalists.
Now I am super nervous - not just about whether or not I will get the Golden Call, but also about whether I will be allowed to work at all.
I have eosinophilic asthma - I am pretty stable and function normally as long as I take my meds regularly. No asthma attack in my history.
I take 2 doses of Foster (inhalative corticoide) in the morning and 2 doses in the evening and also Singulair (Montelukast) once a day, mainly for preventative reasons.
I very rarely need my emergency inhaler, maybe once every few months.
So I’d say I am very stable with my Asthma.
I do worry now though as I heard rumors (one coming from a Girl who worked for Emirates 10 years ago) that they kick out anyone with a medical history. So basically every person who isnt in perfect health.
I got recommendations like „just dont tell them“ from friends as I do think my lung function could pass the medical, but I dont really wanna start my professional life with a lie in case that I get the job and I also worry about the implications.
I am stressed now as well though that I will get kicked out immediately once I completed the medical and tell them the truth.
What would you recommend me to do?
Do I have a chance with the truth or am I delusional?
I personally still think it would be too risky to just not mention it - or do you guys think otherwise?
Also, would I even be fine HEALTH-WISE in case I dont tell them or do you guys think it could he risky for my health too?
Thanks so much for all answers and opinions!
