Is/was anyone in a similar situation as me

I damaged my skin barrier back in 2024, which all started when i wanted to remove the blackheads on my nose and remove the tan i got from cycling abit too much. The first 3 months were perfect until i decided to add a toner called the hatomugi skin conditioner which slowly destroyed my skin and i was stupid and thought pain was gain and added products ontop of it as i needed a solution to the problems the toner created. And it got so bad that i flared up with hives every time my body heats up from my face down.

In jan of 2025 i went to my first derm which gave me a cleanser moisturizer and hydrocortisone steroid. Within 4 uses in 2 weeks my skin felt super super super thin and super tight. I immediately stopped and started to only use the moisturizer she gave, which was when my first seborrheic dermatitis symptoms appeared and slowly slowly became what the picture ontop was.

I went to another dermatologist in september of the same year and he gave me a cleanser moisturizer and a anti fungal cream. This removed all the thick scales but left me with a paste build up and could only be removed when it was wet for a 5min ish period.

When applying moisturizers most felt neutral ish when applied but my skin seemed to heat up after like 30min to an hour of application and go back down.

Since then ive stopped using all topicals and only a cleanser as everything ive tried caused the same reaction.

Ive taken accutane which reduced alot of my seb derm build up and greasiness but the symptoms are the basically the same. Tightness on my cheeks burning etc etc.

When i dont exfoliate/gently scrap off this build up the seb derm build up seems to dry up abit and flake more and the burning stops. However my skin becomes abit itchy. When scraping most of it off my skin becomes more irritable and burns and becomes alot oilier.

Current diet consist of: abit of rice, chicken, salmon, brocolli, chia seed drink, brocolli, eggs and oats

Supplement stack: zinc, omega 3, quercetin, vitamin c

First pic was when it was at its worst second is right now where my barrier is still very damaged and the seb derm is a weird paste that can be scraped off(effects my whole face but concentrated in oilier areas)
Third pic is right beforee the first derm visit

Want to try pyrithione zinc shampoo, itraconazole, honey.

Have tried mct oil it burns my arms abit so i aint trying that stuff on my face.

Gave up on moisturizers as ive been irritated hy them too much when they had minimal ingredients etc etc

Pls help😭😭 im trying my best to be positive but cant help but being depressed when my mind is not occupied.

Damaged skin barrier which led to seb derm

Damaged my facial skin for about 8 months straight, which led to seb derm 4 months later. It got triggered by the hydrocortisone steroid my first derm gave me when I wanted my barrier to be repaired.

It’s been 2 years in total now, and I still have seb derm all over my face. It causes hives as well and burns my face.

My seb derm also seems different from people where when i dont physically remove it it becomes dry and flaky and my skin does not burn but when i do gently remove the build up my skin becomes oily and burns. The build up also seems like a very thick white/ slightly yellow paste which takes a while to remove

I’ve tried many moisturizers, but all basically irritate my skin. My skin type also changed from combo/normal to oily, dehydrated. Mct oil and squalane oil both irriates my skin as well ;cc

I’ve also tried low dose Accutane (10/20/20/20/20/10) and am currently on the sixth month. It has only reduced the seb derm, but it’s still there burning, just with less buildup.

I also took Itraconazole before this, which helped reduce it a bit. But at the same time, I was using Nizoral shampoo, which was super, super harsh, and a moisturizer a different derm gave me called Bioderma DS Cream which contained coconut oil and two antifungal ingredients (climbazole and piroctone olamine). That was irritating my skin.

I’m going to get on Itraconazole again soon, right after Accutane this time without the irritations. Wish me luck. Hopefully this itraconazole removes the seb derm long enough for my skin barrier to recover🙏🙏🙏

Has anyone been in a similar situation and is now freed from seb derm?

Extremely sensitive dehydrated damaged skin barrier

Before doing skincare my skin was great no sensitivity etc, however after damaging it back in 2024 where a singular product irritated my skij and i was stupid enough to keep using it. I developed seborrheic dermatitis on my face whilst having a damaged skin barrier.

My skin type went from combi/normal skin to sensitive dehydrated oily skin

Ive tried many moisturizers and all irritates/does nothing

I have no clue how to differentiate what is irritating and what is helpijg my skin anymore since most dont burn or sting but slowly cause a heating sensation on my face which i dont know if its just part of the progress or not.

This has genuinely ruined my life

Current routine
Night
Cleanse with soonjung 6.5 whip cleanser
Nothing else

I want to try vaseline but when i applied it on my hands it makes my hand red but im not sure if its really causing any irritation

Has anyone been in this situation and what barrier moisturizer did you use to finally break free😢😢😭

Very sensitive nothing seems to work

too sensitive to use literally anything or atleast everything ive tried

i damaged my skin barrier in 2024 and have been struggling to repair it since as it caused my combi skin that didnt feel oily into very greasy skin which caused my seborrheic dermatitis.

currently taking 20mg accutane at 53-55kg to deal with oiliness which is helping abit but it has been 2 months of taking 20mg but im not completely dry yet. i am still oily but not greasy.

products ive tried: ceradan skin repair cream, cerave baby moisturizing cream, the ordinary squalane oil, biossance squalane oil, sebamed clear face gel, couple more different creams but forgot what they were called.

has anyone went through a similar experience if so what product saved you?

Skin still oily after 2 months

Im 54kg been taking 10mg for 1 month then 20mg for the second and probably for the foreseeable future. Im taking accutane to reduce my extremely oily skin that was caused by damaging my skin barrier 2 years ago and then developing seb derm which im currently dealing with and taking accutane to hopefully get rid of it. My skin got around 50-60% less oily last week however it seems to be coming back the past 3-4 days.
Did anyone have the same experience with accutane?
