Does anyone know what the “ — —“ mean on the indicator?

I was with some family members visiting them at the hospital and then I noticed that the elevator indicator showed the “— —“ it’s an Otis Series but it’s modded most likely.

Is an elevator motor room supposed to be “smelly?”

I noticed that my high school uses a Dover impulse and every time I walk back and forth, i can smell some fumes from the motor room. is it normal?

Has anyone seen this?

I have recently booked a stay at the Niagara College Residence and I noticed this on the wall. (In hindsight, I have never seen one like this. only speaker strobes etc).
