Update on the masked number calls

ok, this is a follow up to my post from last week about the masked number leaving robotic voicemails at night :

- 1 Post
- Audio

quick context again. there were two calls from a masked number. the first on the 26th at 3:27am, a 28 second voicemail, three beeps then a robotic voice spelling out letter by letter "four six n". the second the night after, the 27th at 4:50am, a live call this time, four beeps, same voice spelling "zero six e", a weird metallic noise right before it cut off, and the call lasted 47 seconds.

on the first post people gave me a bunch of theories that honestly held up (a verification code sent to the wrong number, an old misconfigured machine, that kind of thing), and it was reassuring. but several of them, in the comments and in dms, pointed out that what the voice spelled looked like coordinates.

at first, using just the numbers, it landed on a town in France an hour or two away. already weird, but i figured coincidence. except then someone noted that factoring in the durations of the calls makes it much more precise, and now it points like 15 minutes from my place, on a spot that makes no sense. and that's what's getting to me: coordinates are insanely broad, they could land anywhere on the planet, and this doesn't just land in my country or my region, it lands 15 minutes from my house. it's probably a coincidence, but a coincidence that precise feels genuinely strange to me.

and then a few days ago i got another masked call. middle of the day, 11:25, i was at work so i couldn't pick up, no voicemail this time, just the call. i know masked calls are a thing and it's probably nothing, but i almost never get them except for this whole thing, so getting one now threw me off a bit.

i'm not gonna be the guy screaming conspiracy, i still think it's most likely something automated or a dumb coincidence. but if that's really it, could someone who knows this stuff actually identify what it is exactly? because right now i'm on the fence, and knowing exactly where it comes from would honestly be a relief.

Masked number calling at night with a weird voice, has anyone had this before?

ok i'm not really sure how to post this, i never do, so bear with me. i'm 22, i live in Switzerland, i speak french, and for a few days now i've had something going on that's messing with me and i need to know if i'm the only one.

let me put things in order. four days ago, the night of the 26th, around 3:27am, a masked number calls me. i was asleep, didn't pick up. and in the morning i see they left a voicemail. 28 seconds. it starts with three little beeps, then a voice, but not a normal voice, some robotic thing, like those old computer voices. it spells out letters, slowly, one by one with big silences. it said "four six n". i'll put the voicemail here, listen, and if you hear something different tell me.

at first i thought it was a prank. we're a group of friends who mess with each other a lot, but we have a rule, when it goes too far we say it straight away. i played it to them, none of them laughed or owned up, and they could see i wasn't ok. i know them, they weren't lying to me. they actually found it creepy too and told me maybe it was another friend, but yeah. i had work the next day so i ended up going to bed telling myself it was nothing, spam, a bug, idk.

the night after, the 27th, it started again. 4:50, masked number again. and this time, exactly because the night before that voicemail had freaked me out, i picked up to try to understand. i was still scared though. and it was the same, except this time it started with four beeps instead of three, then the same robotic voice spelling, "zero six e". i couldn't record it, i don't even know if you can record a call live, if someone knows i'm in. and right before it hung up by itself there was a noise, i can't really describe it, something high pitched, metallic, like... idk, a piece of cutlery scraping a plate, something like that. my call log just shows a masked call that lasted 47 seconds.

since then, three days, nothing. and it's eating at me. i tried to search, to make sense of the letters, found nothing.

the thing that gets me the most is why english? i live in Switzerland, i speak french, if someone really wanted to tell me something why would it be in english? so i keep telling myself it's probably not for me, that i landed in the middle of something by accident. but sometimes i think the opposite, what if it really was for me, and that's worse.

for the number i called my carrier, they told me that with data protection they couldn't give me the real number behind a masked one. the police i thought about it but honestly at 22 going to open a case over two weird calls idk, it bugs me, what would you do in my place?

anyway i'm posting kind of out of desperation, if anyone has had this or sees what it could mean tell me. i'll post again if it starts up again.

EDIT: thanks everyone, didn't expect this many replies. so first, two explanations keep coming back and both hold up, so i'm trying to hold on to those: a verification code / wrong number thing, and an old misconfigured industrial machine sending me its report by mistake. both are clean and rational. some people, here and in dms, also mentioned some kind of recruitment, a targeted thing sent to specific people, but idk.
and mainly, the theory that's actually keeping me up is the coordinates one. at first someone just took the numbers said by the robotic voice and it landed on Sallenôves, 1-2h from me. but then someone else told me that adding in the seconds of both calls made the point way more precise, and now it points like 15 min from where i live. i don't get how that's possible and it stresses me out.
nothing new since the 27th though. i'll update if it ever comes back.
