Had never heard about this team before or seen it either.I got kicked off a bus today for refusing to show proof of payment. I had paid, but with a credit card, and obviously you don’t get a receipt or ticket. So I was unwilling to to tap my credit card on some random guys phone scanner who wasn’t even dressed in MTA PD or NYPD uniform. Is this not an insane way to enforce a bus fare? I’m all for paying for the bus but what is stopping any random bozo from dressing like a rent a cop and skimming everyone’s credit card? I even asked the guy to show some ID and he just gestured to his uniform and said this is enough ID. Which is hilarious when you clearly aren’t even wearing a police officer’s uniform.
