Sorry about the sound — something's wrong with my system after reinstalling, I'll look into it later. Also, I've left my current roadmap in the comments section. Check it out if you want to know about upcoming updates for the Nomad Legacy project.

Working on RTX 5080. Instriction included in comment inside video

Sorry for russian audio. You can turn it off.

Tested on RTX 5080. dgVoodoo + Reshade + DLSS5 host

In Freelancer case it looks not so bad. Because you have choise: DLSS5 or no any details. In modern games... I don't think so. In Freelancer Engine it's impossible to make such face details. You just can't (I tried :-( )

Mesh was created by Meshy AI. Based on original freelancer concept art with nomad cityscape.

Not perfect... but better than nothing. And also it's good example, how use AI not just for funnie pictures: this is real freelancer content

Proof of concept for new idea of SP-freelancer gameplay. This is NOT story-script-driven gameplay. Everything is based ONLY on level design: some amount of locations, divided by death zones, and unlockable teleports

In this video you can see

1. Context-based voice by NeuralNet: enter location, leave base, planet destroyed, loot acquired
2. Cutscenes, played inside extra virtual room (you can watch cutscene or leave room and continue mission)
3. Hidden teleports: after cutscene you will be automatically teleported to next location
4. Megacannon working without any story script - just fire on "generators" and make MegaCannon functional (this is cropped version of mission, in release version you also need to acquire "megacannon energy" in this system, it will be returned back later)
5. Find next key inside planet wrecks
6. Open final base by destroying of enemy fighters: every kill will increase rep to hidden faction (need to set less amount of destroyable ships later)

So... this is script-less-lancer and seems like it working. Some "skyrim-lancer", because without script you have no story-restrictions and can play game in any way.

But... as always. Skyrimlancer:

Expectation: a lot of possibilities

Reality: a lot of loadings (because I can't make teleports and keys without jumpgates and docking with bases)

Also. Internationalization already supported. But at the first is need to create main script and missions. This is only prototype

Main objective of this gameplay structure: make more FL and make it cheap as possible. Looks like it's still FL, not perfect, but ultra-cheap and not based on dangerous infinite 13 mission. I really afraid to make "crossfire-like" architecture, because it adds many restrictions and can broke game anytime

System for final mission and final battle. Sirius sector will be merge with Outworld like in Mortal Kombat. Need to save the world right now!

This is only prototype: need to add enemies (nomads or something like this), black box with real voices (playership's will play them) and integrate it to the main universe.

Wait for more insane Freelancer content in future release of Nomad Legacy: Ultimate explorer edition :-D

Notes: lightnings is already improved, also I did some color correction, innard debris of willard's explosion was reduced

Example of another explorable location from future release of Nomad Legacy mod (you can call it "ultimate edition" instead of just "dlc"). This is "Work in progress" content and will be upgraded later. You also can check out test os Monkey system and prototype of second Nomad Lair. Main idea of gameplay: find nomad gates, open them by mini-game, enter strange locations, reach the end to push forward "meta-story". Or just collect access keys for bases with top-level equipment including infinite cloaking device and top-level ships. Main restrictions in such locations: you can not travel back. You always MUST reach the end. So, you can call it "extraction space shooter". Some locations have no enemies, just race tracks. So... it will be extraction don't-shooter

- Find Nomad Gate in "stange zone"
- Unlock nomad gate by damage on required symbol on required building
- Fly through track and collect exit key and key for base with extra equipment and ships (you also can get extra loot by attack on columns)
- Exit

This is example of main mechanic of exploring in next release of Nomad Legacy. Nomad Gate is entry point for nomad lair / cyberzone / something else. Best equipment can be acquired only after exploring of those kinds of zones.

You can not exit race track. You always need to reach exit point
