My mom's birthday is next week and I'm struggling to figure out what to get her. For context, she and my dad built their dream house together 16 years ago, and unfortunately my dad died suddenly and unexpectedly 12 years ago. Over time the loss of his income has made the cost and size of the house unsustainable for her alone, so she's preparing to downsize even though she'd rather not.

I'd like to get her something that isn't going to add much to what she's going to have to move, and maybe something that will commemorate her house so to speak. She's having a hard time not only leaving the house she had custom built, but the last bit of the life she and my dad had together.

Any ideas?
