Fiesta Potatoes Supreme?
So I ordered the supreme dip but subbed potatoes for the beef for a supreme version of fiesta potatoes. I also removed the beans because at my location they are almost always a dry blob.
Next time Im just going to add on a side of cheese sauce for the chips. I think this might end up being part of my regular order.
Feeling all the emotions
So it’s been a tough school year while my kids. My oldest is going to middle school next year. She struggles with selective mutism so that’s an entirely new list of worries. We also struggled with her not wanting to go to school part of the year and I’d have to try and carry her into the building kicking and screaming. My middle child hates reading and really struggles with it along with math but not as much reading.
Now my youngest (just finishing 1st) is an entirely different story. We did ok through pre-k and kindergarten. (ADHD diagnosis in kindergarten) Now 1st grade comes around. He started off good but as the year went on he started getting really upset at school. I knew it was happening but the school failed to tell me how often and only contacted me about them a handful of times. I did take him to his pediatrician about it who kind or brushed it off but adjusted his medication. I don’t really think the medication change did anything. Now at his last iep meeting his teacher handed me a packet of notes he had taken since November about his fits and it was nearly two a day most days. He would scream, hide under his desk, rip or scribble all over his paper, throw things. He’s always got upset easy but never this frequently. Looking through the notes and speaking to staff it seems to be times when there is a lot of sensory overload such as noise or if his work has a lot on the page or is hard for him. I’m just heart broken he was struggling to this extent and I never knew how bad it was. I am making an appointment with his pediatrician to see what they suggest to help him.
Now tomorrow is their last day and I feel like we barely made it through the school year and I’m dreading next year already. Now I’m seeing all these posts about how well everyone’s kids are doing and all of their achievements. I’m truly happy for them. However this year I can’t help but feel defeated and like a failure as a parent.
600 Days
I had no idea what I was getting into on day 1.
