asked for a quiet weekend alone and now everyone is upset with me
i told a couple of friends last week that i just needed some time to myself, no plans, no calls, nothing. i tried to keep it light and said it was nothing personal, i just get overwhelmed sometimes and recharge better solo. one of them said it felt like i was pushing them away and the other hasn’t really replied since. now i’m second-guessing whether i worded it badly or if i’m making a bigger deal out of needing space than it should be. i still plan on seeing them again soon, but the reaction has me wondering if i crossed a line by being honest about wanting a break. am i wrong for setting that boundary?
