Would you recommend to start a Software Engineer's degree at 40yo if I'm good at Linear Algebra?

Quick background summary: I have an Administration Degree in my pocket already, currently work as a full-time vendor specialist for an AI SMB Platform Company. I've been really good at mid level Linear Algebra my whole life, I'm thinking about taking some advanced courses as well.

The government in my country is offering an Online SE degree, completely for free; it's completely free of schedule, I can log in at any time and progress at my own pace. I've always been fascinated by the Videogame Developing Industry. I completely understand that the tech job market is oversaturated and will be tougher later on to even land an entry level job, but then again it's a full 3 year degree for free, even if I land an entry level job that would be good for me, I can also joint with other devs in my hometown to start a videogame project on our free time, would that be plausible?

So all in all, would this be a wise decision to embark on? I understand this sounds like a midlife crisis career-change but then again it's a free full bachelor degree.

So to any engineers, it's SE that much time consuming?

To any game devs, what courses should I start taking?

Any advise you could give me it's appreciated!
