Click if you’re about to quit writing…

I just want to encourage anyone who is doubting their story, to just keep going. If I had stopped because I wasn’t getting enough views or comments, I wouldn’t be seeing the engagement I have now. This sweet reader literally added my book to her 5 star reads😭🥹

Keep going and never give up.

And whenever I see people binge read my book, I also ask them what they liked about my story and sometimes they respond with something super encouraging, like what’s shown in the second image. To those of you who are scared to post… DONT BE. Just DO IT. Don’t care if you get views or not.

I honestly started posting on Wattpad a years ago so I could finish my book because then I had a deadline to meet. The right people will find your book someday. Just write and post!

Also there IS hope for Slowburn stories. I’m on chapter 35 and there hasn’t been a kiss yet, but the readers are pulled IN. It’s all about your storytelling skills.

Watch YouTube videos on how to hone your craft (I recommend Shaelinwrites [her older videos]). Also Read stories (WEBTOONs, anime, films) and figure out what you like about how a story is crafted and emulate that into your own writing.

Anyway, hope this encourages you 😉✨

Will I get in trouble for this?

So I’m looking to expand my reach with my stories and post on other sites. It seems like the Wattpad algorithm doesn’t favor psychological Sci-fi thrillers unless it has romance (which mine doesn’t). Do you have experience posting the same story from Wattpad onto other sites? For example:
Royal road
WebNovel
Tapas
Patreon
Etc

Did Wattpad remove your story when you did?

What are the memorable comments you received on your story?

I recently had someone comment on my latest chapter that the writing was “enrapturing”. It was written in the perspective of my antagonist, and his thought process was especially peculiar being that he’s a psychopath.

So, what are some of your memorable comments? Funny? Serious? Off topic?:)

Who else loves deep psychological aspects in a story? As a writer myself, who writes psychological complexities, this bugs me… teehee.

But I just hate when things get resolved too quickly as if the conflict or issue didn’t really matter. If it was such an easy obstacle, why include it in the first place? I’m not saying to drag things out either—there just needs to be a balance with how things are written. Trauma shouldn’t be so easily swept over, solutions shouldn’t be convenient, etc. I’m someone who needs to see the process of how the conflict or inner turmoil gets resolved.

Who else is like this? Or maybe you like swift and easy solutions?

I absolutely looooove receiving comments, especially detailed ones like this. Theres just something about a reader engaging with my story that fuels my creativity. It puts a smile on my face and reminds me that what I’m writing is something people actually would read. I wish more readers understood this about writers. And There’s definitely been a decline in engagement over the years… while that’s sad, I won’t let it stop me from writing. Us writers just gotta thug it out, I guess🤣🥲

Do you desire more engagement on your stories or are you fine with no engagement all?
