So I used to have a 2014 3.7, had it fbo test pipes and all tuned. Ended up losing that a few years back and now I’m back in the market for a Q. Thing is, I’m going VR30 this time cause that power wasn’t enough in the 3.7 for me personally. I know the turbos got better for the Q in 2019 but would it be outlandish to get a 2016-2018 at all? My plan was to get a heat exchanger, coolant pump and auxiliary coolant tank from Z1 first week having the car regardless. Catback and intakes as well.. I wanted to drive the car “stock” like this for a year or so just to make sure it runs well and all. I don’t wanna get it and jump straight into tuning. When I do get it tuned, then I’ll throw the downpipes on there so I’m not riding with a check engine light.
So with all that said, what’s you guys thoughts on buying a 2016-2018 if I plan on doing the intercooling system upgrade upon purchasing the car? Or are the turbos truly just hit or miss? Anybody have these years now and still driving on stock turbos? Hit me with it all. Thanks in advance.
