Do you think a lot of job postings are actually ghost jobs?

I’m starting to think part of the job search problem is not just bad resumes or tough competition.

Some job postings may not be real active openings. Companies might post them to build a candidate pipeline, show growth, test the market, or keep recruiting activity visible.

For applicants, it’s brutal. You spend time tailoring your resume, writing a cover letter, and filling out forms, only to possibly apply for a role that was never really hiring.

I’m not saying every rejection means the job was fake. But ghost jobs seem to make the whole process feel more broken.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Is anyone else exhausted by how repetitive job applications have become?

Job applications have started to feel like a second unpaid job.

Searching Indeed and LinkedIn, rewriting resumes, creating cover letters, and answering the same application questions over and over again takes a lot of time.

I started building an AI assistant to help reduce that repetitive work. The idea is to scan new postings, tailor resumes and cover letters for each role, and help with common application questions.

This is not a “guaranteed interview” tool. Nothing can honestly promise that.

I’m testing this with a small group first.
For the first 10 people, I’m offering a $20 pilot where I help prepare and submit up to 200 applications based on your selected keywords, roles, and locations.

The focus is not mass spam. The goal is to make applications more targeted while reducing repetitive manual work.

Curious if this is something job seekers would actually find useful, or if people prefer to handle every application manually.

Thank you,
