Sam's too young to be schizophrenic and we don't want this story anyways!

At least I don't. Why can't Sam just continue being the adorable, resourceful, school-loving geek whose worst misbehavior is playing chess behind Nick"s back?! And I'm sorry but I find the depiction of his emergent mental illness ridiculous, ignorant even. The only illness that causes persistent hallucinations and hearing of voices is schizophrenia but it doesn't develop until late teens. Give him a mental illness, if you must, be at least make it more realistic (and more readily cured for when the writers decide to forget about it!) Something like generalized anxiety disorder could make sense.
