If you could move anywhere in the US, where would you go and why?

I think I'm luckier than some in the sense that I'm in a position to eventually move to the US whilst having a high degree of freedom as to where I'll be moving to, but anyways, if we're talking complete fantasy and not taking any real world factors into account, my top spots would be:

  • Vermont: all 4 seasons, lots of small towns, little in the way of big city hustle and bustle, plenty of outdoor activities.
  • East Tennessee: appalachian scenery, great driving roads and smoky mountain national park is nearby.
  • Upper Peninsula of Michigan: unique identity and history, lots of nature once again, easy access to the great lakes.
  • Anywhere in Idaho/Wyoming/Western Montana: basically my stereotypical perception of the United States when I was 14/15.

Is North Carolina especially popular with canadian tourists?

I'm a huge fan of this youtuber named Peter Santanello, who goes around the US showing different places and realities. He made a video about the outer banks and at one point he goes to a beach where there's lots of vehicles with canadian plates.

Why are there so many clueless posts on this sub?

I see lots of posts on this sub in the lines of "I'm 24M from the UK with a computer science degree and X years of experience and I've always wanted to move to the US. How can I do it?", when realistically, unless you have some specialized skill that allows you to qualify for EB-3 or that makes an employer willing to spend the 100,000$ fee for H-1Bs or something along those lines, you're most likely not moving to the US via an employment visa.

I think the mods should pin some Visa info so we don't get posts like this anymore.

Do you know any guntubers from outside the United States?

I used to watch Bloke on the Range (a british guy who moved to Switzerland), and given how the US are not the only country with permissive gun laws (other than Switzerland, the Czech Republic and Poland personally come to mind), I wonder if there are any gun channels from there. Even if their videos aren't in english, I think they'd still offer a window into gun ownership in other countries.

I've seen various posts on this sub where people ask if they can move to the US whilst having no real visa Path and asking question that could be easily answered with some quick google searches. Stuff like "Hey I'm 18 from the UK I've just graduated high school and plan to go to university for so and so. What are my chances?".
