First off; I like the new subfaction, their designs are very striking and I think that mechanically they are neat, popping them like balloons is super satisfying and seeing the spore clouds adds visual flare beyond the standard model and texture change.

However, their spore burst and the effects that follow do feel a little overtuned. When spore bugs enter a spore cloud it feels like their speed doubles and if you get caught in a spore burst (and you will) you get the bile effect and you slow down making any form of repositioning basically impossible. It feels like you have to bring a walker or the backback GL or some other form of extreme anti-chafe (additionally with the hiveguard armor buff you basically have to babysit MG/Gatling sentries if you want any rounds to go into non-hiveguard chaff) if you want to have a chance to finish the mission. I definitely feel the potential of these bugs to be one of the best subfactions to play but, in my opinion, if they can speed up to the degree they currently can, then they certainly shouldn't be able to slow you down. I don't mind them getting a speed boost I just don't think that it should be to the degree it's at now.

Edit: I forgot to add that this subfaction exemplifies 2 major issues that already affect the bugs

  1. Corpses have deceptively large interaction meshes compared to their visual mesh (and sometimes the visual mesh disappears while the interaction mesh stays for a while).
  2. You can't shoot though or navigate large corpses but they can easily crawl over them and attack you while you're stuck.

Edit 2: As several people have mentioned this subfaction isn't new, only the spore titans are. Apologies for the confusion, it's been a while since I've played bugs.
