His name is Andreas Buttner. He serves as commissioner for combating anti-semitism. The arson attack was found to have an inverted red triangle spray painted on it. He gained attention thanks to this, which was also parroted by various pro-Zionist. Investigation found that the two suspects were actually his acquaintances and that they were involved in a Jewish non-profit. It is unclear what the motivation was. In my opinion, it is possible his associates orchestrated this without his knowledge given he is a commissioner for combating anti-semitism or he also was in on it.
This was what I gathered from rough translation from the German article:
“The two men are alleged to have started a fire in a shed attached to Büttner's house on his private property near Templin (Uckermark) on the night of January 4, 2026, and to have sprayed a red triangle, the symbol of the Palestinian terrorist organization Hamas, on his front door. The damage is estimated at €20,000. Büttner's security was subsequently increased, and sophisticated security systems were installed at his house.”
