Graceland (Season 2 Episode 1)

Right after Geiger says “kill Alex” outside Annie’s room, Link appears to “strobe” or vibrate and gets a nosebleed. WTH was that?

Multiple Partners at Firm Viewing My LinkedIn

I’m looking for my next job as a lawyer, and in the past 24 hours, multiple partners at a firm in my city and in my practice area that I have NOT applied to, have looked at my LinkedIn profile. One of the partners, who I know from years ago and always on good terms, looked more than once this week.

Anyone experienced this? Anything I can do to proceed beyond peekaboo? Reach out to my colleague there who’s looked more than once and say hi, how are you?

Any Recommendation?

I’m a midlevel patent prosecutor, advanced degree. I networked my way into an interview with a partner in my technical area. She has been looking to retire (she’s approaching 70) but hadn’t felt like she could, because she didn’t have anyone who could take over. When she received my CV, she invited me to a Teams call. There’s no posted job opening, this was all right place, right time.

We met almost 2 weeks ago. I followed up with writing samples: issued patent, large PCT application, 3 office action responses (2 of the responses got the cases allowed). All samples were client approved, and internally approved. Applications were also inventor approved (obviously). I was very thoughtful about what I sent, and went back through everything I’ve written and filed based on what she said she’d like to see.

It’s been almost two weeks since I sent samples and almost a week since I followed up. Not sure what to think. Anything I can do?

Thoughts on my Chances?

Met with one partner at a firm just because I was referred by a mutual connection. He mentioned that a colleague partner at the firm in my practice area, age late 60s, wants to retire, but doesn’t feel able to because there’s no one there to hand off clients to, and this partner wants the clients taken care of. I had a virtual interview with this partner after the partner reviewed my resume. Seemed to go well, and right now the partner is reviewing a bunch of my writing samples. The partner wants an exit plan by end of June.

Maybe it’s the market, but I’m still nervous. I mean, there is no one else under consideration because there was no advertised role. This just came together because right time, right place. Am I freaking out for no reason? I’m in a highly specialized field and very competent, maybe I’m just nervous because the writing samples are seemingly the only hurdle to getting in.

Transpositional Error

Saul’s very first scene in BB, he pulls out the wrong file with Badger and misidentifies him as indecently exposing himself at Starbucks. Then he claims a “little transpositional error.”

Then the writers went and made this one of the defining themes of BCS. Brilliant.
