AC Assistance
We noticed last Tuesday our 2024 Tiguan was blowing warm air when the AC was set on 68°. It was about 85° outside.
I took it to the dealership today and they asked if anyone had worked on the car and recharged it. Apparently on May 5th (same day we noticed the warm air), the computer generated some error code indicating the refrigerant level was too high and “pressure upper limit exceeded”. The car is under warranty and has 20,000 miles on it. No one’s touched the car other than the dealership with regular maintenance.
The advisor is going to talk to the service manager about what options there are, but they’re indicating they’d need to empty and refill the system. This just seems a bit drastic to me. Surely there’s a way to test the pressure without relying on JUST the error code? Has anyone run into this issue? This dealership has always done right by me and I’m not all that concerned with their response, just more so the actual issue that’s at hand here. Has anyone received this error or a similar issue?
