Hi everyone,

I’m planning to buy a flagship phone and my main concern is long-term use around 4 to 5 years. I’m not focused on peak performance, just how well the phone stays smooth after a few years of updates.

For context, my friend is still using a OnePlus 7 with Snapdragon 855 and it still works fine for daily use, even for basic gaming, which makes me lean towards Snapdragon.

From your experience, does MediaTek actually age worse than Snapdragon, or is that outdated? Does optimization and software support matter more than the chipset itself over time?

Would appreciate any real-world experience.
