I heard online that i should email them? Will this work? I am an incoming freshman who accepted a spot after coming off of the waitlist on the fourth. Im now on the waitlist for freshman housing which sucks. I know no one here and living on campus would be much better for my social life and I also dont know of any apartments or anything in this area. I’m okay with being in a 4 person dorm. I just wanna be on campus.

Everyone on this sub hates on UCI a little. It’s so crazy to me. Maybe it’s cause I come from a rural part of New Jersey where the nearest store is a 2 hour walk, but when I visited this place it was so crazy to me. Beautiful place, incredible weather, great academics. I don’t understand how people say there is nothing to do around here. Maybe it’s cause basically everywhere has more stuff than where I live, but there is so much to do near Irvine. Crazy how much people hate on this school.

Basically title. I’m coming from New Jersey if I choose to go for computer science. I’m a white guy and my main hobbies are playing volleyball, making videogames, I watch tv and anime. I know I sound kinda nerdy but I’m not really. I am concerned though about making friends here since I’m coming from Jersey and also white people are a minority. Not that that’s an issue with me but like I heard the campus is half Asian so idc I don’t want to go here and feel left out or something cause I’m not Asian. I really like this school, honestly it seems like the perfect fit and the program is really good, I’m just wondering is it easy for out of state students to make friends, easy for a white guy to make friends. I know like everyone comes from California going to this school so does everyone coming here already have like friend groups and stuff and I won’t be able to fit in or will everyone be coming not know anyone/know like a kid or two? Thank you.
