How do you deal with “white coat” syndrome while taking home readings?
Maybe that sounds absurd to a lot of you. But I am diagnosed with hypertension that’s fortunately well managed with a few medications.
I also suffer from anxiety that generally stems from over worrying about certain heath conditions. I fall into these periods where I over worrying, sometimes even very subtly or subconsciously about my BP and taking my BP. Obviously that carries over to my readings and can give some reading that are decently higher than my averages.
Every time I take my BP I follow the recommended steps. I know it’s my anxiety and the fact that I’m uneasy with taking the reading that driving up the reading.
For anyone else who goes through this or something similar, have you found ways to get past the “white coat” worrying/stress.
It could be a me thing, I know my brain will eventually snap out of it. But it is a frustrating cycle that seems to happen more frequently than I’d like to experience lol.
