Hi all, looking for some, hopefully, post-hoc advice here. I have the fridge captioned above. To save you Googling, it's a 2017 model, french door 2 drawer (freezer and fridge flex) model, with the ice maker in the roof of the fridge compartment. Over the years, I've occasionally had issues with the ice maker not producing ice for a day or so. Not very often, maybe once a year or so after heavy use (like I had a party and had it on fast ice for 3 days straight so I could fill bins in the freezer and have enough ice for everyone's drinks). I always chalked it up to the water line freezing a little when run on fast ice for so long, and it always came back and made ice like normal after 12-24 hours.
Last week, no party or any unusual use, it stopped making ice all of a sudden. It didn't recover in a day or so like it did previously. I could occasionally hear it filling water, but no ice came. I watched a million videos, and ran a bunch of error and operational tests based on them. Finally, yesterday, after running 59 (? maybe that's 56, motor seating test, I have a lot going on...) a bunch of times, plus a couple of, I think 18's (defrost cycles if I'm reading everything correctly) it started gushing slushy water. I cleaned it up and left it alone. It spat out a few batches of tiny cubes later yesterday evening. Today, it's making normal size ice again, with increasing frequency as the day goes on (it's been just about 24 hours since its first dump of normal size ice and the bin is about 3/4 full). This makes me think that there was a bit of ice jammed in the motor and it finally got rid of it, and everything is back to normal.
I just want to know if you think I'm right in that analysis, and if there's anything else I should do to make sure it's working okay. If I need an actual repair, it needs to happen Wednesday, so I should call Monday morning...anything to watch for to make that call?
