My H/K AVR 1710 w/a 5.1 setup went unused for a few months, no power surges, wiring changes, nothing. Just powered it up yesterday and noticed the FL & FR were silent, so ran manual speaker EQ and no tone from manual speaker setup when FL & FR selected. Zone 2 and amp are off. All other speakers work: center, surround L & R, and sub. The FL & FR speakers DO have EQ tone in manual setup when wired to other outs, so it's not the wiring or speakers... it seems to be the FL&R outputs on the H/K or? Should I just factory reset? What else could it be? TIA! ❤️
**Update: my working theory is a failed output relay which from reading, is a common point of failure for older H/K units... if this is the case, try tap & spary relay housing w/DeoxIT D5 before soldering? Or just time to replace w/new unit?
