I’m thinking of people living in Andorra, Liechtenstein, and particularly Monaco and San Marino. Given the small population, how common is it to have a foreign-born parent? Do most people’s parents and grandparents all come from the country, or is such a case quite rare?

For example, the county in England I’m from has a population larger than these nations, and while I have a family history there stretching back centuries, this is only through one of my grandparents. But obviously a county is not a country, so I wondered how different it is for sovereign states.

Of course I imagine the answer will likely differ by country, and apologies if the question comes across as ignorant if the answer is obvious. Thank you for any answers!
