The Eritreanification of Tigray

My biggest fear was that Tigray would become like Eritrea after gaining independence—ruled by military leaders and surrounded by enemies. But TPLF has gone and allied with Shabia before that could happen, and now it seems to be taking notes from their playbook. Forced conscription occurred throughout the war, but it has now intensified to the point where people are fighting back. The other camp used to say the TPLF is the child of the EPLF; now it’s hard to argue against that.

TPLF has always been a cancer to Tigray since it came to power (that’s my personal belief). At least it had a somewhat believable agenda before the 2020 war, but now it seems to have lost the plot since allying with Shabia. The power-hungry allegations make more sense than ever. We are now heading toward an avoidable all-out war in Tigray, with almost all the youth who can leave fleeing to Addis Ababa while the unfortunate ones left behind are abducted and conscripted.

Antagonizing people who are already going through hell because of TPLF’s previous mistakes is a really poor move by its “masterminds.” Fighting alongside Shabia inside Tigray, after everything Eritrean soldiers did, is a slap in the face to their victims. Now it seems TPLF has also lost political leverage, as the US and EU appear to back Abiy in his next endeavor. This is why I believed in capitulating until his inevitable war with Eritrea. Tigray is now set to become a buffer zone for Shabia to fight off Abiy’s invasion, all because of retards with empty pride leading Tigray.

Western Tigray has become a distant dream as priorities keep changing. Ironically, TPLF has allied with the very people who turned against Abiy the moment he negotiated with them—the same groups that have occupied our land from both sides. What’s the plan after they “win” this war? Fight them again for the land?

Some TPLF generals have even stated that Abiy requested their assistance against Fano, but they refused—only to later fight alongside them. The Amharas were being massacred in Oromia on a weekly basis, yet Fano allied with Abiy at the first opportunity. It would make far more sense to fight with Abiy to remove Fano from our land rather than ally with them for an inevitable future clash. Before anyone attacks me for suggesting an alliance with Abiy, we must face reality. Tigrayans are not fleeing to the Amhara region or Eritrea for safety—they are coming to the capital, even at the risk of prosecution. That’s the predicament the TPLF has put us in because of its earlier blunders while in power (though that’s another story). I guess my fear of Tigray becoming exactly like Eritrea is beginning to materialize even before our independence.

A long rant because I’m pissed.
