[TOMT] [Book] [Pre-1995] A Kid's Book Series About Dragons
So this one has been bothering me for years and I'm hoping someone can help me out. In the 1990s, specifically before 1995, I read a kid's book series about dragons. Elements I recall:
-It was about (probably British?) siblings or cousins who travelled to a fantasy world through a sea cave
-The dragons weren't huge compared to the kids, or possibly just the main dragon character was also very young, e.g kid walking down the road beside the dragon talking not riding a large flying dragon
-There was a particularly disturbing bit in one of the books where a carnival magician sort of guy turns the dragon into a lizard puppet
-I'm pretty sure there's a bit in one of the books where the protagonist has to work as an apprentice of an evil wizard to steal something
-These were in my school library so they may have been Scholastic books. I remember them being about the size of a Babysitter's Club or Animorphs book
Hoping someone here can help, this has been driving me nuts for like a decade.
