Superblast 3 or Megablast to pair with Dynafish?
I’m currently looking to get two shoes and can’t decide between:
Superblast 3 and Xiaonian Dynafish
Or
Megablast and (something)
I tried the Megablasts in an Asics store treadmill and they felt great. Not sure if this will translate on the road. I can’t seem to find Superblast 3s where I live. So idk what they feel like. Nor can I find Megablasts of my size anymore. But a friend of mine is going to Japan and he’ll be able to buy them for me (at a lower rate even). I’m not sure if I should ask him to buy the Superblast 3s or Megablasts. I can only buy one of them.
Another factor is that I ordered the Dynafish too at a super cheap rate and would like to know what shoe to pair this with? I’m not against cancelling/returning the order if you think the Dynafish isn’t a right fit for me or doesnt pair with one of the Asics Blasts. One thing is for sure, i will either buy Superblasts 3 or Megablasts.
If it helps, here’s more info:
I’m a mid-foot / heel striker and an average runner. I run about 25 - 35km a week. Fastest 10km is 53 min (felt like death to me). Fastest 5k is 24 min (also death). I hit a slump (big knee, leg tattoo - many sessions) last April and early May so I’m a bit slower now and my Z2 pace is at about 7:00/km maybe?
Here is my history of running shoes:
- Asics Gel Kayano 30
- NB 1080
- Asics Novablast 5
- Nike Pegasus 42
- NB SC Trainer 3(?) (latest SC trainer)
(Sorted by acquisition date)
Each one of these i’ve run with over 700km except for the SC Trainer which is at about 350km and I already wanna retire them. Not a great shoe.
Looking back, I think I enjoyed the Gel Kayanos the most, but this is also when I first started running. So running shoes were novel to me. I’m flat-footed, so the Asics store reco’d the Kayanos. So did the NB store after (1080s).
