A couple recent chapel closures...Alma, Georgia & Porto Alegre, Brazil...The Alma chapel was built in 2009, just in case any TBMs think the church is only closing chapels from the 1960s and 70s...

The Sunland/Tujunga chapel in Los Angeles is evidently empty now. The Meetinghouse Locator map no longer lists the 2 wards that met there. Also missing are 1 ward each in the La Crescenta and La Canada chapels. This photo is the Sunland/Tujunga chapel when it was new in 1958.

I have no idea if these changes are permanent, or if there will be any more ward closures. I just saw the changes on the Meetinghouse Locator tonite. I guess they plan to sell this chapel.

Two more Salt Lake area chapels for sale...Wasatch Wards chapel and another in Cottonwood Heights. The Cottonwood Heights chapel has an interesting metal framework on the outside of the steeple.

Is this the next chapel to be sold? Or will the church move another ward into it after moving the Spanish ward that was in it? San Jose, CA. Quince Ave. Closed last week. The steeple is actually white today, evidently re-painted in the last 3 years, but in 2022 it was blue. Weird...

Another ward and chapel(?) bites the dust in WA. I don't know if they will stick another ward in this building or not. Cottage Lake was the only one in it. We'll just have to see. Cottage Lake, WA.

Japan Update: Another ward and chapel closed in Japan on 6-24-26 in Sendai. Nagamachi ward. This chapel only had one ward in it (like the majority in Japan), so I guess the chapel is closed also.

Japan chapel shrivel (Part 1). Japan has lost a lot of stakes, wards, branches, and chapels in the last 7 or 8 years. Why? Is it the result of a society that has outgrown phony religions, and the older members are dying off? Here's 10 recently closed or sold chapels...

I would love to hear the opinions of former missionaries to Japan on here...The chapel locations (in order) are: Osaka (Hirakata), Kokagawa, Nagaoka, Okayama (West), Osaka, Osaka, Sapporo, Sapporo, Sapporo, and Tanabe.
