Soft-side carry on vs Original carry on

Hello all, Im traveling to Europe next month and ordered my first Away bag. I got the soft side carry on. It was delivered today and i'm having second thoughts. My biggest thing is ensuring that it fits in the flight overheads, this bag even appears to be slightly bigger than the hardside carry on (not expanded). What are your thoughts on overhead bin space with the softside vs hardside, and what are your thoughts between the two in general? I was contemplating exchanging for the hardside.

Hello!

I am 30 years old and work for state government. My work contributes 4% mandatory to my 401k and matches an additional 5%. I have been here for 4 years and have been contributing 5% in the traditional 401k; however, I recently learned that I have the option to contribute to the 401k via Roth. I currently make 91k.

Should I contribute my 5% via Roth, keep traditional, or split moving forward? I plan for my income to increase as I work towards managerial positions. My previous plan was to get match, and open a Roth IRA but I think if I'm going to contribute Roth I would lean towards just using the 401k for sake of keeping it at the same financial institution and payroll deduction.

Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Edit: no pension, those are long gone :)
