TL;DR: 40 episodes into a Strahd Reloaded campaign and the “Krezk-sposition”is going….not how we expected. Curious how others have handled it.

We just dropped Episode 40 of our RP-heavy Strahd Reloaded run, and honestly the thing that surprised me most is how many threads of exposition there are.

Krezk in particular kind of broke our expectations.

After the battle heavy Wizard of Wines and Yester Hill, we were looking forward to a “safer” stop

Of course it turns tense fast—between the Abbot, the burgomaster’s family, and the threat of werewolves. But we’ve found meeting all these new characters and setting up the next few arcs is a lot of information in a short period of time.

We’ve leaned pretty hard into character-driven choices and roleplay, so that’s definitely impacted how long these beats are.

I’m curious—for DMs that have run CoS before-especially if you’ve run Reloaded—how have you handled these chunks of new info? As a DM, I’m trying not to give too much and only answering questions when they ask. But if you have some ideas how to punch it up a little, I’m interested to hear ideas.

If you want to see how ours is playing out, I can drop a link, but mostly I’m interested in how other tables handled it.

TL;DR: 40 episodes into a Strahd Reloaded AP and it finally feels like we solved some of our early problems. Curious what other AP folks think.

We just released Episode 40 of our RP-focused Strahd Reloaded campaign, and going back to Episode 1 is…rough.

Early on we were dealing with:

-Sketchy audio and video (multiple mics, bad levels, just….no)

-Learning editing software and everything else

-“Misalignment” of what we wanted our channel to be

Very gradually, it started to click. The biggest shifts for us were:

-thinking more like storytellers and performers than players

-Upping production value—being way more aggressive with cuts, adding music, visual / audio improvements

-A clearer vision of what we wanted to be.

We’re still doing 100% student artwork, which we’ve stayed committed to from day 1.

We don’t have it all “solved” by any means, but it finally feels pretty watchable/listenable; we cringe a little less when we watch something hundreds of times to edit it.

If other AP creators have time, I’d be interested in what stands out—especially pacing and edit choices. And I’d love to know if it’s clear what we are trying to do, especially in the last 5 or so episodes. I’ve linked our channel and our latest short. Thanks, all.
