After 10 years of heavy use, my 970 is starting to suffer of old age, so I am planning on building a new PC that will hopefully last me as long as this last one hehe.

Budget is around 1700 to 2000€ and I live in Spain.

PC would mainly be used for gaming, singleplayer games like FFXVI or DS2 and competitive games like OW.

However, I still get some Photo/Video gigs from time to time, so I need a machine capable of handling After effects, 4k footage in Resolve and also music production software.

Planning on gaming in 1440p. Right now I've only got 2x 1080 185hz monitors, but the next paycheck after the PC would go towards an upgrade to 1440p.

I would appreciate any advice, change or heads up before building this, so I'm posting here. If something can be simplified or changed, let me know.

Here's the build: https://es.pcpartpicker.com/list/2GsLPf

-CPU: Ryzen 7 7800X3D (Already purchased, got a OEM Tray version off Ali) - 258€

-CPU Cooler: Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE (Already purchased) - 31.67€

-Motherboard: I'm in between the MSI Tomahawk B850 or the Gigabyte AORUS B850, but i'm open to suggestions.

-RAM: Unsure on what to get… I’m guessing minimum 6000 and CL36, right? Is the used market okay? I can find some there for like 290-300€

-Storage: I have a 1TB HDD and a 240GB SSD from my old PC. To that I want to add a 1TB/2TB nvme. Is it okay if I install the OS on the 240gb SSD?

-GPU: I do not care *that* much about raw performance and maxing out fps, but I care about functionality and driver stability. So I’m in between the 5070 and the 9070xt (yeah yeaah I KNOW they are not equal…) Are NVIDIA cards better for stuff like After Effects/3D ? I guess I could also save a little bit more and go for a 5070ti since I want a long lasting build… 5070ti would be my ideal pick.

-Case: Fractal Design Epoch XL, reason for the XL is to have it be more future proof and also because the side panel on the non XL hides the gpu.

-Case Fans: Case includes 3 fans at the front. I should add 1x 120 rear fan and 3x 120 top fans, right?? Which ones would you reccommend? If the case has fractal fans, do I need to have them ALL be fractal?

-PSU: Corsair RM850x (2024), I’m guessing that is more than enough wattage, plus it’s got the highest tier on the psu spreadsheet.

Note: I have a DAC Amp for headphones (they are high impendance). And I also have a dedicated soundcard that I use for my microphone (Behringer UMC22 -AT2020).

Thank you!!!
