These rookies and young guys..

Man, if this PBA season has showed anything I think that it’s not going to be dominated by only 1 player anymore. Yes EJ Tackett bowled a phenomenal year and dominated in most categories but going into world championship where he’s setup nice to win he still has 0 titles.

Yet:
Brandon Bonta & Alex Horton wins major’s as rookies. Alex also wins shark.

Zach Wilkins wins doubles title and also scorpion

Boog wins masters

Austin grammar and Spencer robarge (rookies who won titles)

Packy takes cheetah while Cam Crowe qualified first

If I’m not mistaken there’s been 4 majors so far and rookies won 2 and boog is young and won masters. PBA world championship has some young guys on show as well.

Exciting time to enjoy watching PBA

Kyle Troup

So I just started watching bowling again recently after a few years off because life. I noticed something I found VERY odd.

And that’s Kyle Troup having the 2025-2026 he’s had.

Now this year he has finished 15th in TOC and made round of 64 match play in masters while also making New York match play. But those are the HIGHLIGHTS. I remember him dominating PBA and setting earnings record (a lot to do with 250k tournament) but he seems absent lately.

I watched the HBO bowling show and the last episode was a lot about him and drama with his father and him leaving disgusted with 2025 and saying he wished he never did the show… I thought that was in bad taste showing all that but guess it was for ratings.

Also, I do realize match play doesn’t always mean much with how tournaments are now he’s still earning around 100k a year and had 2 titles in 2024 and his average is better than back when he was dominating but I think a lot of averages went up with recent tour build and such. But seems weird the dominance he had not really being there now.

But what’s going on with him? I bowled some tournaments in youth bowling with him in NC and he’s a great dude if a little flashy and brash but I think that’s great for modern PBA.

On edit: I think he bowled well at US open but I guess since A USBC tournament I think maybe is why didn’t pop up.
